Gabrielle & Ross- Hendall Manor Barn
My first wedding of the year? Complete windy chaos.
In the best possible way.
On the 29th April, I headed to the beautiful Hendall Manor Barn with my trusty assistant Jade Eleanor by my side, ready to kick off wedding season with Gabrielle and Ross and honestly, what a way to start.
The weather forecast had clearly chosen violence.
Wind. Lots of it.
Veils were airborne. Hair had opinions of its own. But despite the dramatic weather, the entire day was full of warmth, laughter, and the kind of relaxed energy that makes weddings so much fun to photograph.
Gabrielle looked incredible, even while battling the elements like an absolute professional, and Ross spent most of the morning smiling like he’d won the lottery (which, to be fair, he kind of had).
One of the sweetest parts of the day was having their daughter as flower girl. She completely stole the show in the way only small children can, equal parts adorable and unpredictable. Exactly what every wedding needs.
After the ceremony, guests headed outside for bubble confetti. Much calmer than traditional confetti too… especially on a day where the wind was determined to participate in every photo.
And then — just when we thought the weather might win, the skies delivered the dreamiest golden hour.
For about ten glorious minutes, the wind calmed down, the light turned soft and golden, and we snuck away for portraits around the grounds of Hendall Manor Barn. Those little unexpected moments always end up being the ones couples remember most.
We finished the night with a sparkler exit that was equal parts romantic and slightly terrifying for anyone responsible for health and safety. A perfect ending to an amazing first wedding of the season.
Gabrielle and Ross, thank you for trusting me to capture such a brilliant day. If this wedding is anything to go by, wedding season 2026 is going to be a good one.
